Since 1994, Terra Probe Environmental, Inc. has satisfied customers from large companies like Conestoga Rovers, BP, Chevron Texaco, It Corporation (The Shaw Group), Malcolm Pirnie, ERM, Camp Dresser & Mckee, etc. to small, one-man companies. We have performed work with over 100 satisfied clients. Our quality work and our reasonable prices have let us grow from a one-probe company in 1994 to a nine-probe company in 2007.

Terra Probe Environmental, Inc. is a fully insured environmental company specializing in direct push services for the collection of soil, groundwater, and soil vapor samples. The company was founded in 1994 to specialize exclusively in hydraulic probing services. Not an investigation or remediation services company, Terra Probe Environmental is dedicated to assisting firms who offer those environmental services to their customers.

Terra Probe Environmental, Inc. has assisted in soil and groundwater investigations for commercial properties, major oil companies, RCRA facilities, and Superfund Sites. Furthermore, Terra Probe Environmental, Inc. has performed sampling for the risk-based closure of sites under Ohio and Michigan Brownfield Programs.

-Superfund Sites: Terra Probe Environmental, Inc. has performed work at several Superfund Sites located throughout Michigan and Ohio. At these Superfund Sites we have installed air injection probes, collected soil gas, collected soil samples, collected water samples, and installed mini-wells.

-Automotive Companies: Terra Probe Environmental, Inc. has worked at several of the "Big Three" automotive plants. At these plants we have performed soil sampling for the purpose of expanding new buildings, cleaning old spills, or defining a contamination plume.

-State of Michigan Work: Terra Probe Environmental, Inc. has performed work under the State of Michigan funded sites. Work at these sites has included up to one month of work at different locations throughout the state. Usually water sampling is performed to define the extent of chlorinated solvent plumes.

-Military Bases: Terra Probe Environmental, Inc. has worked at the Dayton Air Force Base collecting water samples for a TCE plume. Continuous water samples and soil samples were collected to a depth of 50 feet. We have also worked at the Naval Base located in Chicago, Illinois. Soil samples were collected during four weeks of work. We have also performed work at the bases in the Detroit area.

-High Profile Community & Public Relations Work: Terra Probe Environmental, Inc. performed work in a residential neighborhood next to a former refinery. The USEPA and the state environmental agency required sampling to be performed at over 150 locations in the neighborhood. The project included a pre-meeting with state regulators, journalists, the community, and the company. These same people followed during the sampling event. our client was extremely happy with the results, leading to Terra Probe Environmental finishing the rest of the work worth $500,000.

-Toledo, Ohio Redevelopment: During the past few years the city of Toledo has pushed for cleaning up several areas of the city. Terra Probe Environmental, Inc. performed work at the new prison, the industrial park located near the new Jeep plant, the Toledo Coke Facility, the Buckeye Basin, and the Marina District. Work at these locations ranged from several days to several weeks.

-Former Gulf Refinery in Toledo, Ohio: At the Former Gulf Refinery in Toledo, Ohio, Terra Probe Environmental, Inc. has performed over 1000 borings. Sampling has been intermittent since 1997. During this time we installed 1" and 2" wells to monitor groundwater. We have collected sediment samples using our sediment-sampling raft.

-Off-Road Deep Water Sampling: Terra Probe Environmental, Inc. completed a water sampling project in a forest where only an off-road vehicle could be used. The Kawasaki-Mule was used to collect an average of seven water samples per day at depths of 65-75 feet.

-Water Sampling with our 66DT Geoprobe: The 66DT is a track-mounted Geoprobe with a stronger hammer. In August, 2002 we completed a project in Dowagiac, Michigan collecting soil and water samples using this rig. The 66DT had the power to drive water samplers to 170 feet, and could have easily hit 200 feet if the client would have wanted to continue. We also collected continuous soil samples to 80 feet with 50 feet of saturated heaving sands. During a two week period, the client estimated they saved their client $65,000 using the 66DT instead of a drilling rig.

-Manual Sampling Techniques: Terra Probe Environmental, Inc. completed a site verification sampling project by sampling 11 feet high clay soil piles. No vehicles or skids could be transported to the top of the piles and manual hydraulic sampling techniques were selected as the only option. A demolition hammer was used to drive the samplers and a modified hydraulic lift was used to extract them. Nineteen locations were continuously sampled to 11 feet in two days (95 samples total).

-Gas Station Work: Terra Probe Environmental, Inc. has performed work for BP, Sunoco, Marathon, Speedway, Admiral, Clark, 7-11, Shell, and several other gas stations. We currently work for several clients who perform gas station work on a regular basis. This work consists of soil sampling or installing 2" wells.

-2" Well Installation: Using our dual purpose rigs (66DT track rig and 6600 truck rig), Terra Probe Environmental has installed wells using the 3 1/4" Drive Casings and the 4 1/4" Augers. We have installed several wells at different sites. This work has consisted of 3 or 4 wells at gas stations to more than 20 wells at different sites.

-Chemical Company: Terra Probe Environmental worked at a chemical company in Southeast Michigan. At this project we spent one month with two rigs drilling 150 holes with 4 1/4" augers for a remediation iron wall project. We also set 2" wells ranging from 10-70 feet, as well as taking water samples to 80 feet in deep woods with our track rig.
